Welcome to our Web Site.
This website informs the reader about the Wharf Cottage which has been made into a 6/8 person state-of- the-art and comfortable location in which to spend your holiday.
This cottage is a brand new holiday let and has been set up to provide top quality family accommodation for up to 6 adults/children, though parties for race week etc will find it equally user friendly and the flexible accommodation can be expanded to suit a larger party of 8, if required.
All kitchen equipment is of excellent quality and the light kitchen surfaces are a special hard- wearing composite made from granite. The white goods are modern and good quality and include a 5 ring ceramic hob and wine cooler. The efficient washer/dryer allows makes short thrift of dirty
washing should you not wish to take your dirty laundry home. The carpets are thick and luxurious and the ceramic tiles laid though out the ground floor (except lounge) provide a durable surface for active and busy children to play with their toys. Should you book the cottage in the colder months, the responsive oil fired central heating will definitely keep you cosy and warm. The new oak furniture has been carefully chosen to be sturdy, comfortable and stylish and will certainly not disappoint.
We are a very health-conscious pair, and therefore all bedding is anti-allergenic and the carpets in our cottage will be cleaned regularly with an ecological and non-toxic product which will keeps them free of dust mites etc. Bed linen is crisp white cotton and will be changed weekly or a second week supply left for you to use.
This cottage was our home for 14 years, we still love it and hope you will too. The photos on this site are testament to the careful and considered approach we took in developing and renovating this cottage and the changes we have made generate a calm and tranquil atmosphere which will benefit those looking for some quiet time during a busy break.
The countryside around the cottage provides the booted walker with lots to see and enjoy. There are footpaths along the tow path or across the fields which allow you to get close to nature in a way that town-living so often prevents. You will see foxes, pheasants and of course bunnies regularly crossing your paths and the pair of swans, that mate annually on the canal, always produce enchanting signets (7 last time!) The buzzards regularly hover ahead and beautiful jays and kingfishers nest in the area. At night the sky provides a carpet of stars and the quiet stillness provides a perfect backdrop to the hooting owls. Essential equipment would be a powerful torch and some good binoculars.
All this, and the cottage is uniquely situated in the centre of three interesting and historic towns, is sandwiched between the beautiful North and South Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean are within an hours drive away which make this cottage a great place to make your base.
